Supplementation: Yes or No?

In recent years, there has been a huge growth in the fitness and health industry. This growth is the result of an increase in awareness of the benefits of physical activity, as well as the harm caused by physical inactivity in our health and longevity.

When we think about achieving our goals we have to focus on 3 main aspects:

1.       Training will be the stimulus that will make our body go through a period of stress and that will consequently result in metabolic adaptations.

2.       Rest is the period in which several vital functions occur, such as increased protein synthesis and muscle recovery.

3.       Diet is a very important factor because it is the fuel to make our body work. WHO define that our diet should consist of 55-75% carbohydrates, 10-15% protein and 15 to 30% fat.

DIET SUPPLEMENTATION

Most people we know do not need supplements and their use could be nothing more than a waste of money.

Supplements complement our diet, if necessary, diet that should be varied. These supplements are no more than easy meals to take and they have in their constitution macro or micronutrients needed to nourish our body.

The supplement industry has created the idea that to achieve goals we need to consume supplements. However this idea is wrong because at the nutritional level, we can see things in a mathematical way, if we consume more calories than we spend daily we gain weight and vice versa. It is possible that the calories come entirely from food.

However, there are people who for some reason, need to take them because of an excessive lack of a nutrient, lack of time due to work or because they are high-performance athletes with high caloric needs, use supplements and obtain benefits from them.

WILL IT BE FULCRAL TO TAKE SUPPLEMENTATION TO ACHIEVE OUR OBJECTIVES?

Personal Trainers helps...

It is possible to train without supplementation and to be able to take the necessary nutritional benefits, for this we only have to respect the percentage quantities of nutrients that we must ingest, train and rest properly.

Most people we know, do not need supplements to to reach their goals, if they have a varied diet, should be enough to meet the nutritional needs.

Taking supplements will not fill your diet, sleep, and training failure. It is important to first meet the basics (diet, sleep and training) because often the solution does not go through the supplements but something we are neglecting in the process.
