Diabetes and Exercise - Taking Care of Yourself

There are several types of diabetes but the most frequent ones are Type II - people who, fundamentally because of their lifestyle and genetic predisposition, do not produce enough insulin for all glucose (Carbohydrates) they consume. Diabetes is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia, that is, excess blood glucose.

The World Health Organization strongly advises regular and guided exercise to prevent the onset of diabetes and to control diabetes, as it improves glycemic control, reduces risk of cardiovascular disease, facilitates weight loss and improves well-being. Here we entered in the careful and personalized prescription of physical exercise taking into account the particularities of each person.

In this sense we leave 6 advices for people with Diabetes:
1 - Bring Carbohydrates for training;
2 - Monitor pre and post exercise glycemic level;
3 - Exercise with accompaniment;
4 - in a state of Hyperglycemia, you should not exercise if you have cytosis;
5 - in a state of Hypoglycemia should consume Carbohydrates and postpone exercise;
6 - Avoid late night exercise after 9 pm because of the risk of nocturnal hypoglycemia.
